London Fashion Week

Tuesday the 5th October 2010 and the fashion weeks are coming to a close. New York, London, Milan and Paris have show cased their new ideas, trends and creations for us all to be wearing and filling our wardrobes with for Spring/Summer 2011!
I was lucky enough to be in London for a couple of days during London Fashion week and experience the buzz of one of the best weeks in fashion. These few days were warm and sunny. Where autumn is creeping in, but we still hold on to wearing our summer sandals for a little bit longer, and I can’t help thinking sometimes it all moves a little too fast…
Sneak previews of what’s going to be out there for Summer 2011 is exciting and fun, but we’re barely in Autumn. We are just starting to get our heads round winter; Making our winter wish list, investing in the odd scarf, searching for our new boots and browsing for this season’s must have cape or aviator jacket, and now summer is sprung on us!
Here’s some of the photos I took in London and a sneak preview of some of my favourite looks of the week…

Lanvin for H&M : Alber Elbaz - Designer Collaboration 2010

For the last 3 days, H&M has posted 8 mini and mysterious, black and white video clues as to whom their next designer collaboration will be with…
After much speculation of who the next designer would be, (I too, had no idea!) It was announced this morning, in the final video, that it is Alber Elbaz, Artistic director of Lanvin, who will create the next, exciting and stylish designer collection for H&M.

Alber Elbaz
Elbaz and Head of Lanvin Menswear, Lucas Ossendrijver, will design the two collections(One menswear, and one women's), which will be revealed on November 2nd, by a special film, available for us to watch at www.hm.com. If the Sonia Rykiel collaboration launch is anything to go by, I'm looking forward to see what spectacular launch H&M have up their sleeves for this collaboration!
The collection will be available for us to buy on November 23rd, online and in apx. 200 H&M stores. I can't wait to see what elements of the Lanvin style they will bring to H&M; Hopefully we will have some very sexy and luxurious dresses for our christmas wardrobes. In the mean time check out Lanvin’s A/W 10/11 collection below...

This season's LBD

This season’s Little Black Dress is all about monochrome; black and white; Chanel meets Wednesday Adams
Reflecting the lady-like zeitgeist of the season, silhouettes are classic and chic. Influenced by the 60s shift dresses, white neck detail or a girly collar is a must.
Whether it’s a sophisticated shift accessorized with pearls, big sunnies, and a white quilted chain bag, au la Audrey Hepburn, or a girly, mod mini dress and pumps, more along the lines of Mary Quant, its up to you. As long as its feminine and monochrome you can do no wrong. Here's some i've found on the high street (Miss Selfridge have many!)...

Dorothy Perkins £30 www.dorothyperkins.com
Miss Selfridge £49.00 www.missselfridge.com
Miss Selfridge £39.00 www.missselfridge.com

Goodie two sleeves!

Everyone loves a graphic tee; funny, rock, cute, cheeky, geeky, whatever you like, they’re great tucked into a bodycon skirt, or thrown over a pair of skinnies or leggings! I love them, and I’m always looking for more to add to my collection, you can never have enough!

Recently I came across this great website www.goodietwosleeves.com which has some fab, fun tees for girls and guys. They make great presents for friends and family, or just a cool and quirky staple for your wardrobe. Here are some of the ones I really like…

Queen of pumps $21.98

Stomach Ache $21.98

Mustache Guy $21.98

Prehistoric Love $19.98
It may be a good idea to get together with your friends, and share the postage, as international shopping can get a bit expensive. Alternatively some Goodie two sleeves tees are available from Topshop, Urban Outfitters, and many streetwear and t-shirt websites, just type Goodie Two Sleeves into Google :-).

Ps. Dont forget to tie them, knot them, cut, slash and crop them!

Hot trend…Biker style, multi-strap wedges!

Ok, admittedly they have been floating around for a while, and possibly are emerging on to the highstreet many months later (like most heart stopping, jaw dropping new trend pieces) but I still love <3 them! I first clapped my brown hawk eyes on these awesome strappy wedges back in Autumn 09 when I was flicking through my latest Dazed and Confused…
Stylishly and effortlessly modelled by Chloe Sevigny, for her new fall collection for American Boutique, Opening Ceremony; I fell in love with this image, cut it out and stuck it on my wardrobe. Looking, hoping and wishing for highstreet takes on these must have footwear, I have finally found and bought a pair from ASOS. Now a little piece of me is finally looking forward to winter dressing; knowing that I can update my pretty dresses and playsuits with a pair of opaque black tights, THE (God send) WEDGES and a little jacket, for an easy, cute little outfit with a biker edge… VoilĂ !
The strappy winter wedge is creeping on to the high street ready, for what I think, is going to be a sexy, must have trend for Winter 10/11. Here are some of my high street favs…
Chloe Sevigny, Opening Ceremony Fall 09
Absolutely love the androgynous, yet sexy look of this collection
