I love...

Statement Nails!...
Being a fan of colour and creating colour palettes, I'm a sucker for new nail varnishes. So unsurprisingly, I've recently added some new nail varnish colours to my bulging collection, and decided to experiment with different colour combinations.

Barry M is my go-to for quality nail varnish in fresh colours, and they have some gorgeous pastel colours to match the ice cream palettes prominent this season. Here I used Barry M 'Berry' and 'Mint green' for my fingers, and Barry M 'White' on my thumbs, with a top coat of H&M's 'Confetti' glitter varnish on top (This would also look great on clear nails for a funky layer to natural nails).

What do you think? Check out Barry M's full collection of colours here... http://www.barrym.com/nail-paints

Inspiration...

Blessed with beauty, an unprecedented voice and effortless style, Miss Whitney Houston will always be remembered as a true icon. The lady had style, and 'I wanna Dance with Somebody' has to be, in my opinion, her most stylish video.

Recorded in 1987, it captures 80's fashion at it's best, as well as being the ultimate sound track to many jumping-on-the-bed-with-a-hair-brush performances. Full of fun and feminine fashion, it has always been one of my favourite music videos. Many a time I have been inspired to crimp my hair big, or chop a bodycon dress in half to create a twin set crop top and skirt. The 80's is one of my favourite fashion decades and I would quite happily, infact love, to wear anyone of the outfits featured in this video! The body-con dresses, twin sets, crop tops, denim, and big hair, I love it all!
Think it's time to go on the hunt for a pair of vintage high waist jeans for spring.
Enjoy....

Today I wore... To My Graduation Ball...

My new corset top from Topshop. I love the stitching and gold zip detail. I think the colours fit perfectly into the current dark grungy look with a glam edge. Originally, as the occasion was a ball, I wanted to go for a black midi skirt and add a petticoat for a formal look. However I couldn't find one in time, so I opted for my friends grey Topshop mini skirt with frills down the back. (A bit more suitable for the club I was going to after aswell :-)).

Corset Top - Topshop £30
For this look, as usual, I mixed up masculine and feminine elements, teaming the corset top and skirt with black Topshop wedge boots, plenty of gold jewellery and essential red lips....

Corset top - Topshop, Skirt and Belt - Friends wardrobe, Black Wedge boots -Topshop, fringe bag - H&M,  Gold bracelet - Versace for H&M, Gold watch - D&G, Gold square ring - H&M.
I really like these jewellery pieces to add an edge to girly outfits...
Funnel Earrings - Topshop

Chunky chain - Forever 21. Red Lipstick - Collection 2000 - Colour: Queen of Hearts)
I was unsure how many different ways I could wear this corset top when I first bought it, but I'm so glad I did. I think this kind of top you can team with anything highwaisted. I plan to wear mine with denim shorts, midi or pencil skirts and a pair of black smoking trousers. Corset tops are definitely worth the investment, and not just a summer item. Topshop have some great ones for winter/Christmas, check them out...

My Graduation...

I've been busy busy busy the last few weeks, and to end all the hectic-ness in style, I had my graduation! Although I finished University in May, it was great to draw a line under uni and celebrate our degrees. Despite the nerves of having to juggle my gown, hat and new office high heels, whilst walking across the stage to collect my certificate, it was a great day and I really enjoyed myself :-) It was also lovely to catch up with all my fellow graduates, who, may I add, are a bunch of very talented people! I loved studying at Southampton Solent as it's such a creative uni, full of lots of inspiring people, with unique talents and styles.
Here's a few photograph's of my day.....

Underneath my gown I wore a black bodycon mid-length dress with wide scoop neck from Asos, and black courts with built in platforms from Office. Simple yet sophisticated was the idea....

Shoes - Office £68.00, Dress - ASOS £30.00

Now University is all done and dusted, I will post some of my project work and portfolio in the near future, for you all to check out...

I Love...

Statement Earrings!
During the summer I had 4 more piercings done on my left ear. So at the moment I love scraping my hair back, showing off my decorative ears, and adding oversized statement earrings to complete the look. At the moment they are still healing, but I'm looking forward to playing around with different combinations of studs. Here are some of the best statement earrings I've bought over the last few weeks...
